    Telling a Lie

    TELLING A LIE
I found out about 1 week ago that my mother is dying and I don't know how to deal with it. The doctor said to me that she is in danger. My mother is prone to heart attack.
When we were at the hospital my mother asked me if she was okay. I said that she is in a good condition and she has nothing to worry about. I felt bad at that time because I tell a lie. Yes, I know that my mother is prone to heart attack. But I should not tell a lie to her regarding her serious medical condition. I have to remember that telling a lie is morally wrong.

    Hi again, jessica_23!

I've moved your question to this forum topic area so that it will be more likely to be noticed and addressed by those who are best able to answer it.

Introductions is for people to introduce themselves only and others to greet them. We try to not ask questions there.

Concerning your question - Were you actually told that your mother is dying or that she is just at a risk for a heart attack, please?

    Thanks!

I believe it is the doctors duty to tell her! She is prone to a heart attack! She needs to take some sort of medication, lying to her will just decrease her chances of living!

If you're a minor, this was very unethical on the doctor's part.. at least in my opinion.

Were you acting as an interpreter for your mother? Why was the doctor talking to you and not her?

If your mother needs medication then you must tell her what the doctor said. Explain that you were shocked by the doctor's diagnosis and that you were concerned that she would be worried. Do it now.

Make another appointment to see the doctor immediately and use a qualified interpreter.

It was extremely unprofessional of the doctor to use you as a go-between. Do NOT act as an interpreter again.

This is why relatives or minors should not be used to do these things.
