    Dimmer switch and wall wires.
4 wires are on my new dimmer switch to the wall black, blue, red and green. On the wall are 3 black, 3 white, and one bare. Which is the best way to connect these wires?

The old switch has two wires, right?

Wire #1 (To light) Pick red or blue and put a wire not on one of the wires. If you don't like the way the switch works, use the other one.

Wire #2 (black on dimmer) Usually power in

Green goes to bare which is ground

Wire 1 and 2 go to where the original switch is.

It's hard to tell which wire is power. You may have a white wire painted black.
