I'm collecting poems about "love". Do you have any favorites?
    Hi Guys,
I have been keeping a journal for 4 years now and I like to add different items to create themes throughout. My last theme was "kissing" so I have a beautiful collection of these poems.

Right now I am in a relationship that has settled and become comfortable. We're both very busy and don't have time for "passion". I miss that and want to read something that reminds me of those feelings.

I am most interested in poems about passionate, all consuming, intoxicating love but if there is a favorite that has "rocked your world", I'd love to read it. Also, I prefer poems that have stirred you personally instead of just giving me poems you have "heard" about.

    Thanks!:)

Is there a particular poem, you remember, that really affected you and you felt it described your feelings perfectly?

    Yeats 'when you are old'

My father recited it to my mother on their 30th wedding anniversary,my favourite verse is.

'how many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgram soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face'

    Is this homework?

It's not homework. It's for me personally. My guy and I have so much going on right now that it feels more like we are good friends rather than in love. It's like we don't have "time" for feelings.

I miss the intensity and the passion we had. So, I want to read these poems to stir that side of me again.

    I love Elizabeth Barret Browning.

Sonnets From the Portuguese (these are two of my favorites)

Number 38 "First time he kissed me..."

Number 43 "How do I love thee?"

    Hi Cat1864,
Thanks for your poems! I am happy to get your reply. So far I have only 2 responses. "Come on all you romantics out there!"

Anyway, I will share a kissing poem with you by a poet I discovered not too long ago. He's from India and his name is Nikhil Parekh. Please click below. I hope others reading this check it out as well. Perhaps it will inspire you. :)
