Why is my 4 year old son complaining about his genital area?
Ok I have a question. I have a 4 year old son that is always holding himself because he says he hurts. He has been circumcized and does not drink caffine at all! Yesterday he told me his sac hurt. This morning he woke up complaining worse that now his penis hurts and not his sac. His exact words are mommy my penis is going crazy. I don't really think that he knows how to explain it so I don't really know what to believe.I guess my question is would his penis or sac hurt if he had a UTI? He drinks all day long, he has been urinating normally, but he does hold himself some before he gets up and goes to the restroom. I have though of a hernia but I don't think it is. Any suggestions? If it continues I am going to take him to the doctor. I just thught that maybe if it was a UTI we coud treat it at home.

Take him to his doctor. It does sound like he has a UTI and you can not effectively treat a UTI at home if it is one. He'll need to be tested first and put on an antibiotic.

It could be a hernia as well. They are fairly common.

Please let us know how he's doing.

Definitely take him to the doctor to be checked out.

But remember it could be something as simple as his penis got squished while sleeping or he pinched it too hard (all boys play with their penises) and it could go away on its own. But definitely see the doctor as it could be a UTI.

Get a urine sample and get it checked out to see if its an infection.

Maybe he is exploring himself as well as most boys will try things out like self exploring of the genitals and he may have hurt himself by grabbing his sac or penis a little too hard but do get it checked out.
