At 5 weeks, they should be eating a puppy chow. Most of the ones you find should be OK. You may need to add some water to soften it a little. Pick a chow, and stick to it. Feeding a commercial chow guarantees a complete and balanced diet dogs need. It is beyond the average dog owner to give them that any other way. Any change in diet can lead to loose bowel movements. Worms and other parasites can cause problems too.
