I'm with my boyfriend for 3 years and we do have problems now and then so I don't know if it is because of that or what. Long story short, I've never been with that guy, I haven't even seen him in years, but he's on my mind almost every day. When I hear a song it reminds me of him, when I think about love I think of him. I dream about him to put me into sleep, I even think of him sometimes during sex with my boyfriend. He wasn't my first boyfriend or love, we weren't together, he had a girlfriend and couldn't be with me, but we've always flirted and teased each other a lot. He was my friend for many years and I think he's married now. But I feel like I love him, love him like crazy. He is everything I've ever wanted in a guy, we just couldn't be together. Not to go into details about it and complicate.

I think my current boyfriend loves me, but I stopped saying I love him back because of this. He noticed it but doesn't know why. I can't tell him why. He knows about that guy but just as a fact of my past life. I never bring him up.
The truth is me and that guy we'll never be together, but my heart longs for him. I don't want to breakup with my boyfriend, I love him, but it's not the same I feel for this guy. I think I'm still in love with a memory I had of him. I don't even know him anymore. Why are my feelings for him so strong and won't go away after so many years.

I'm so confused what's happening and really need some help.

You re allowing yourself to remain stuck with memories of something that never really was.
You re in a relationship and you should ask yourself where you want to go with this.
If you love your boyfriend work on what you have if not break up with him and figure out who you are and what you want from life.
