    Interior design (bathroom)
I need some tips as to what floor tiles to pick.

Long story short, I installed new wall tiles around the shower/tub, wife picked out wall color before going away for 3 weeks but I've decided to do new floor tiles too.. just don't know what would match well with the wall color and shower tiles.

Attached are two photos, one of wall tiles and one of new paint, taking photo of the walls didn't work since you wouldn't be able to tell the color.

It's pear color but looks like a mix between green and yellow.

I'll go with 12x12 floor tiles but I don't know what color to pick.. something light (close to white), maybe something dark without going to brown/gray (like existing, see photo).

    Thanks:)

Second floor, second bathroom.. it has a tub, toilet and sink, small bathroom.. so something that might make it appear bigger (not sure what color of floor tile I should aim for then)

    Hi again, Rott25!

White is always good for making an area seem more open and larger.

Is there a window in there?

    Thanks!

Yes there is a window. I'm also leaning towards white simply because it'd blend in with the tub, toiled, sink etc. but then again I'm worried it might be too much white. Maybe off-white color..

Definitely something neutral because wall color is very bright.

A neutral or off-white of some kind would be good. What kind of tiles are they going to be and how large is the window and what kind of window treatments are currently on it, please?

I need to go for a little while, but will return...

    Thanks!

Thanks for all the help, I'm sure my wife will appreciate it.. not that you'll get the credit ;) Kidding:)

Tiles will be ceramic for sure, window is small (38x20), no window treatments (glass is frosted).

I'll be installing tiles tomorrow or Sunday at the latest so any help is appreciated.

    Hi again, Rott25!

    I'm back...

Are you dead set on using ceramic tiles on the bathroom floor?

    Thanks!

Vinyl would be one. How about heating under vinyl tiles? I don't know how your finances are, though...

I also don't know how many throw rugs your going to be putting down once you've installed ceramic tiles.

Vinyl is definitely better on bare feet, though.

    Thanks!

With your wall color and tile color I would choose something earthy with light beige and grey for the floors. Take a sample of the wall tile and paint part of it with you wall paint. Try to match that at the store.
I did my shower walls, floor and vanity top all in the same color porcelain tiles and it looks great.

You can always change the wall color, that is easier then changing out any of tile or flooring.

You want a contrast on that floor, so go with something you are going to like for sometime.

Talk to your wife and look at options that you will be happy with for a long while. Your floor - whatever you decide on - will be there longer then the paint.
