I have a 4000 sqft home with high ceilings and 3 AC units. I want to keep my electric bill as low as humanly possible. I keep the thermostat set on 80.It seems that the AC units run all day one right after another. What is the best temp to set? Thanks

A/C thermostat temperature spread

I would like to know the recommended temp spread on a digital A/C thermostat. I believe it to be three (3) degrees. My son has one which he says is set for one (1) degree. Isn't that a too tight spread setting? I would think it would cause the A/C to operate too much of the time.
