    Ceiling fan lights won't work
    Hi,
I have a BayBreeze ceiling fan that has lights on it. It has wall switches that let us turn the fan on/off and a separate one for lights on/off. I recently had visitors stay in the room that didn't use the wall switches and chose instead to use the pull strings to turn lights on/off. Well, you guessed it.. now I can't get the lights to turn on from the wall OR the pull string. The fan works fine from both the wall switch and from the pull string... it is just the lights that will not. Any ideas on what to do from here?

So with the wall switch up, I'm assuming there is no 3 way switch here, are you saying that the pull chain still won't turn on the lights? Start by testing the bulbs, then test for power into and out of the wall switch box. Still got power at the box move up to testing for power into and out of the pull chain switch. Still finding power at these points??

Complete basic here! I don't have much knowledge of electrical things. How do you test for power in wall switch or from pull chain? I assumed wall switch okay because switch next to it for fan works fine.

Yes, the switch that operates the light only. You need a meter or a simple voltage sensor or voltage testor. Buy or borrow, they are cheap, some are little more than two wires and a neon bulb. Without one you asre stuck for the moment unless you have an old lamp that you could strip down to just two wires and the socket. Back to you
