Luka is in heat, and she's spraying.
I'm trying to find out the least expensive, yet most effective urine odor remover. It's in the carpets unfortunately, but it's all in one spot.

I also need to find a way to prevent her from spraying again, anywhere.
What would be a good way to deter her from this?

I can't afford to get her fixed unfortunately.

    How old is she?

Getting your pet spayed is something that has to be factored in and saved before buying the pet.

Obviously the best choice is carpet cleaners and specific pet odor removers from pet stores but you can try baking soda... just sprinkle some on your carpet before you vaccuum and it absorbs both moisture and odor.

She's nearly two. She was given to me as a gift from an ex, so I didn't exactly plan to have her.

Will baking soda work for cat pee?

Only one way to find out ;)
I don't have cats so I can't say from experience but I know it works on dog urine, I use it myself when I vaccuum because it is much cheaper than using chemical products and safer.
My parents removed their old carpet a few months back and sprinkled baking soda underneath the new carpet to help keep the house smelling fresh longer (they have 8 dogs)

I know you would already know this but it has to be said for other readers..

Animals should never be given as gifts and should never be accepted as gifts.

Is this because you don't know the animal and don't know if you are compatible?
    Or are there other reasons?

Yes. Some people don't understand how much time and money it takes to properly care for a pet. Spaying or neutering is an absolute must, as well as vet visits for shots and illnesses.
