My girlfriend broke up with me the day before I went to college... about a month ago. And I can't stop thinking about all the things I've done to mess up.. and all the things I should have changed, or done differently, because they were pretty low things to do to someone that loves you. I'm pretty positive this girl really, really, loved me a lot. I did too and I still do, but for some reason I got lost in myself, and did stupid and thoughtless things (not cheating or anything but still, dumb). She's with some other guy, she's telling me about it, not tobe hurtful, but because she wanted me to know? I don't know. I can't shake the feeling of guilt and I know I have to, but the only feeling that is keeping me going is hope. Hope that I can return the love she had for me. Hope that yknow people can realize what they've done to mess things up and yknow change. I'm also afraid that she's really done with me? She still kept all my stuff, and I've been in her room since webroke up, and there's still things I gave her, old flowers, notes, etc still there. And she wants to still be friends and all that. I know I should just forget and move on, but I don't want to let go of this feeling of hope, any words of advice..

You can not be friends and continue to contact an ex-girlfriend if you want to heal.
