    Catholic marriage recognized after divorce?
Married in the Catholic Church and divorced many years ago. After 45 years and two subsequent marriages,(both deceased) I have reunited with my first husband. In the eyes of the Church are we still considered married?

Did you get an annulment at any time.

Of course the other marriages could not have been in the church and would have to have been either in another denomination, or a court house wedding.

The fact is, to the church, unless you got the original marriage annulled, you were sinning when you got remarried.

So tech, yes in the eyes of the church you were never married to the other two, since you were still married to the first.

Now of course to the STATE, you are not still married, and the churches belief has no legal standing in law
