Ok... well I brought a item on eBay and all I need to do now is pay. I actaully don't want the item nomore but do I have to pay for the item still or is there some why I can get rid of it ?

If you don't pay for the item on Ebay the seller will definitely tell Ebay about it and you will have problems in the future from Ebay. I think they let you skate on one item by not paying for it but after that no, then you risk being banned from Ebay.

Normally yes you should pay, the seller has had costs, to post and why should they be harmed for your change of mind.

Next eBay can ban you from future sell or purchase if they wish.

That is why you don't bid if you don't want it, y ou have a moral duty to purchase the item or communicate with the seller to settle

eBay itself doesn't go around policing whether you pay or not. But the seller can turn you in as a non-paying buyer. When they do that, it becomes a black mark on your record. A couple of things can happen from there.

One, eBay itself has a three-strikes-and-you're-out policy. Sellers also have the option of checking a box that says if you have two strikes within some such period (one or two months, I forget), then they can block you from buying from them. I am such a seller who has that checked.

Sellers also have the right to cancel any bids they don't want. Even though sellers can no longer leave negative feedback, some of them leave the positive but then put in big capital letters that you never paid, so other sellers can see it. And then they can block you not only from that item, but permanently. I have a few people on my permanent blocked list.

Bidding on eBay is a contract. It states that in the TOS. It states that in the rules. Even if you never read any of that, you're still responsible for it. When you bid, it takes you to a screen that reminds you that bidding is a contract and that you're obligated to buy it if you win. So it's giving you a chance to read that before submitting your bid. Even if you ignored that, you're still responsible for it.

Let's forget the rules. There's what Fr_Chuck said. It costs the seller money to list the item, not to mention their time and trouble. The seller is bound by the sames rules: once someone wins an auction (or buys a fixed price item), they are obligated to ship it once you pay. It goes both ways.

There isn't any way to just make it disappear. Yes, you can email the seller and ask if you can get out of it, and maybe they'll be nice about it, but they don't have to be. Or you can ignore it and get a black mark and have a p***ed seller. But if you're going to go around doing stuff on eBay, then stick to your obligations.

I sell casually on there, so I can totally see the seller's point of view. And trust me, it isn't a whole lot of fun when people win something and then don't want it anymore, and we're stuck with having paid for an auction you didn't follow through on, and having to re-list, etc. You don't want a seller screwing with you, do you? Then don't screw with them.

No, of coarse it doesn't get sent until you pay for it.

If you do not pay for the item and say that you do not want it anymore then the POLITE thing to do would be to offer to pay for the costs incurred by the seller.

Tp put an item on e-bay you have to PAY to list that item and on top of that e-bay charges the seller a fee based on the percentage of what the final bidding price was.

CONTACT the seller and explain your situation and offer to pay for the fees that THEY had to pay to list the item.

Irrelevant. A bid is a contract to buy if you win. Period.
