Dating a Minor
In Indiana, are there any laws prohibiting a relationship between somebody 19 years of age and somebody who is approximately 15 years of age?
NOTE: The relationship does not include nor will it include sex at all as far as the question is concerned (I already know that it would be illegal for the two in question to have sex prior to the minor turning age 18 and one day)
To people who due to opinion claim the 15 year old to be too young for a 19 year old, know that age is just a number that restricts certain actions and think of the two ages more as 18 and 23.

Um, no. how about we keep in mind that the ages are in fact 15 and 19 because the maturity levels of a 15 yr old and a 19 yr old are completely different than of an 18 yr old and a 23 yr old.
There are not laws on dating. It will be up to the minor child's (yes, CHILD) parents. As you already to seem to know, the laws are about sex.
There may not be actual laws, but here's a large enough part of societies view on this sort of thing. Any 19 yr old dating 15 is a pervert robbing the cradle.

First, There are no laws that restrict dating. Any laws covering a relationship between an adult and a minor involve sexual activity between the two.
There are dozens of threads on this site that have answered that question.

Sorry but I vehemently disagree with you. The older the two parties are the less age matters. And I would agree that a 4 year gap between an 18 and 23 yr old is not much of an issue. But it is a VERY rare 15 yr old who would have much in common with a 19 yr old (or vice versa). The fact is that these two ages are at vastly different levels of maturity and stages of life. A 15 yr old is just entering high school. Her life is more into developing social relationships and learning how to cope with them. She is still a child and her concerns are more about growing up. A 19 yr old is starting college or their working life. He would be mostly grown up at this point and concentrating on developing their adult life rather than a relationship with a child. People who say "age is just a number" are generally rationalizing to justify a relationship they know is objectionable.
I would ask where her parents are in this scenario. I would think your concern about the legality of this situation is due to an objection on the part of the parents.

I feel that it is best to wait myself (being the 19 year old). But anyway, the parents were OK with her sister (16 at the time) dating a 24 year old, so I'd assume it'd be the same, but anyway. I think I will just continue to persuade her to wait till she knows. I wanted to stay friends anyway. Thanks for the help.

Im I the only one who noticed this but you said approx. 15 years old. So they're 14?
Rick
P.S. This doesn't change the advice given but being honest and clear will help the situation.

So the girl is pushing this? With parents like that its no wonder. But I have to ask what interest you would have in an "approximately" 15 yr old? Are you in college or working?

Often, not saying this case, but remember how we read here on 13 or 14 or so girls wanting to get pregnant and have chidren, or looking for love because they don't get it at home
But age is not just numbers, maturity factors is the real issue.
4 or so years,
12 to 16 years old, is just 4 years but a lot of difference.
And so is the 14 (15) to a 19 year old. Hard to think of a man who could be in college wanting to go to perhaps a middle school dance??
