We recently bought an old drop leaf table with extra leaf folded underneath the top.

Table has gear and rack operating mechanizim. When table is extended you can unfold one extra leaf and it raises level with top.

Drop leaf sections have one leg on each end that swivel out to support the drop leaf.

There is no identifiable information ex manufacture, year etc

The bottom of the drop leaves and the legs have all been painted green, remainder appears to be walnut stain
At loss to determine origin of this table?

Any suggestions

I recognize the base as being quite old; no one assembles quite like that anymore, but top drop leaf may be new from the way the edges are beveled.

Hard to say without being right there to check it out, Old. Maybe some of our other experts will chime in.

Wood appears to be same hardness

After thoroughly studying the underside of the table, it appears the leg assembly is not original or vise versa. Even though the wood for legs & top are close match.

From the shading of the stain underneath I can see a pattern in the stain where there has been another piece of wood at one time. As well the leg parts have been painted white and covered with the green, where as the top is stain only

Having said this we are still pleased with our purchase as we paid only $15.00 at an antique sale. We are now trying to decide what to do with the table, leave as is or have whole table refinished.

The picture in my first post is little misleading as the top needs refinishing due to numerous scratches and large areas where the stain is worn down to the bare wood. The sturdiness of the table is excellent.
