    Racoon or medium size animal
Every night I place my garbage in the back of my truck to take to the trash bin the next morning. Something is getting into the back of my truck and ripping the bag apart a strewing the garbage everywhere. I am constantly having to clean out the back of my truck. I refuse to leave my stinky garbage inside my house, so I want to kill this animal and stop this. It is either a raccoon or a cat either way I have the right to put my garbage in my truck without it being touched. I don't won't to repel it.. I want to kill it.. but I cannot find a poisen in stores strong enough. What should I do? Please help!

Galvanized trash cans with tight fitting lids or a .22 and a BIG pot of coffee.

Edited to add: You won't be able to find a poison that will work on all the possible animals it could be. They eat different things. Exclusion or trapping might stop the problem. Killing will require one on one time with them.

I don't understand.. there are thousands of chemicals that tell you do not ingest could kill humans especially children... I am thinking o soaking a steak in something then laying it in the back of my truck.. either that or lay out a bowl of antifreeze

The problem is if this is a cat or dog killing them would be illegal.

Even wild animal have restrictions on how you can kill them.

What if you hauled the trash out at night, or put them in a container, many use wire mesh containers to put their trash into to keep animals out

The stink of your garbage is what is attracting some animal. You are actually baiting wild animals with garbage. And if you kill THAT animal, don't you think ANOTHER animal might take its place and rip up your garbage bags?? And then another animal?? And then another? Poisoning a hungry animal is not the answer.

Like someone else said, there are animal-proof garbage cans. Buy one. We had a raccoon problem at night with our garbage and then crows in the morning used beaks and talons to rip into bags. An animal-proof garbage can solved our problem.

Your problem is that you don't know what animal is doing it. Indiscriminate poisoning is against the law pretty much everywhere. By the way, you say you have a "right" to put your trash in your truck... where did you get that idea?
