Lighterrr, Dessaml is using mequinol. I'm still considering it along with other products possibly. What percentage did you get and what will be your regimen? Will you be using tretinoin along with it as well?

I am currently using it, but I'm using it EXTREMELY carefully as it is 10% and it scares me. Not only that it BURNS! And I'd like to consider myself a skin vetran having toughed out some pretty high percentage chemical peels but damn... it's no fun putting it on... BUT... I looked at myself in the mirror today... and it appears to be working for my hyperpigmentation.

I mix it with my tretenoin, I won't lie I looked like freddie kruger the first week, but peeling has decresed a lot, so in my mind it's worth it to torture myself if it means in the end I'll have nice skin. It's comforting to begin seeing pretty skin peeking through, but I'm not a mequniol expert! I am experimenting myself.

If my face falls off I'll be sure to post pics so everyone can have a good laugh:)

I have been using the Mediderm Rx from Amazon but nothing happened so far. I'm thinking it must work better on asian and caucasion skin, as mine is brown. I'm giving it to the end of this month and just use the rest up and then just switch to something else like Christalline and Fair & White exclusive whitenizer gel for the face and maybe even Hq 4% and tretinoin for the body. I'm just really dissapointed right now, I have even been tempted to start off with the Makari first to give me a head start on the lightening. As it lightened me the best, but their prices are crazy.
What do you mean by burn. Is it something I could withstand?

Welcome KRIS P KRIS, I have not yet tried mequinol, but from what I have read it can lighten the skin very well but it is strong and makes the skin feel like it is burning. Try doing a Google search, and you can also try reading these for starters:
    http://www.drugs.com/cdi/mequinol-tretinoin.html

Is menquinol permanent. From some I heard so while others disagree.

    What about a combo of

Monobenzone and solage (MENQUINOL AND tretinoin)

What should someone start using to lighten up a bit and then lighten up a lot until I am light skinned and then use for a more permanent effect.

    KRIS P KRIS,

You need to think very carefully before you decide to use mono. If you read some of the threads on it, it will give you a better idea of the sort of results people have had. It is definitely not something to be entered into lightly.

Why don't you try to lighten your skin first before you go depigging it
Most people who go for mono are those who have failed with lightening products

    KRIS P KRIS,

By the way, once you decide on your lightening route, you need to make sun protection your friend otherwise there's no point. You have already mentioned your Disneyworld incident, so a good sunblock is a must.

I agree, depigging and lightening are two different things. Using mono will depig your skin and you should read other's experiences here on the forum as much as you can. Start with a lightener that is mild and temporary and then try maintaining your results and always use a good sunblock, I prefer spf 70 or higher. Read up on some of the lighteners that others are using here successfully. And also start learning more about good and bad lightening ingredients in products.

Thanks. Anything other than sunscreen is needed to retain that tone?
Is spf 70 extremely thick for like the beach or is it more something for like everyday use.
Also is it really possible to go from this

    To this

Using either the solage or 55h+ cristaline?

I really love the Neutrogena spf 70 or 85, they also have spf 90 and 100. No, it is not thick, it easily absorbs in the skin really well and there's no white chalky look. You have to apply it 15-20 minutes before you go out, and reapply during the day if your going to be out for longer. With using a sunblock you still may get some tanning, but the tanning will be minimal and you still have to maintain with a skin lightener a few times a week.
