    Bad debts charged off
I have 3 credit cards listed on my credit report as charged off as bad debt. What are the chances of those companies garnishing my wages. Is that legal after debt was charged off.

We are in the process of moving to South Carolina. No action has been taken against me at this time here in Georgia. Once we move to S.C. can the companies still garnish because we are former GA residents?

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Hello Nolatwo

First of all charged off is simply an accounting term a company uses, it does not relieve you of the responsibility of paying it, you owe it you should pay it,The cc companys do not garnish your wages that comes from a court order after the cc company gets a judgement against you. I do not know the laws in South Carolina, but what I do know is if they get a judgement and can't garnish your wages then they most likely will attach your bank accounts and in some states
A lien against property can happen. Check the laws for SC

How old are these debts, are they past the statute of limitations yet?
