    Crown on small tooth
    Hi,

I have a problem in my tooth & Iam not able to chew from one side my docter suggested me root canal from a specialist . After root canal is done on my teeth I need to put crown on it to prevent further breakage & when I went to my docter again for crown she took measurements & told me that the tooth is so small to put crown on it. Iam not sure how she can suggest me root canal if its difficult to put crown on it because it is important to put crown on the tooth on which root canal is done . She is suggesting me some surgery for increasing tooth length.

Is this is the only way to put crown on it ?
I think my docter trimmed my teeth while removing the filling to take the measurement for crown.

Iam so confused what to do next

Mohali, I suggest seeing another dentist. There are other ways of dealing with your tooth that don't require lengthening the tooth to put a crown on.

OK... can't give greenie ("spread some reputation"). I agree with tick... go for a second opinion. Perhaps see a prosthodontist who specializes in bite and tooth size and function.
