    Well I feel sheepish.
OK. So. I'm in Arizona. Its freaking hot, still 105 or so during the day. But FREAKING humid at the moment. So the mosquitos are just loving it.

So I get a mosquito bite on my foot. Right on the top of my foot.
It was itchy. Badly lol. I can get bit anywhere and not let it bother me EXCEPT anywhere on my foot or toes. Grrr.

    We go swimming.

And stupid me, found out that it felt good to rub my foot against the inside of the 'smooth' concrete pool.
Little did I know it wasn't as smooth as it felt.

I gave myself essentially a road rash from that concrete! Lol. I just stood around rubbing and rubbing over and over again for a long time. It felt SOOO good!!

Yet, an hour after getting out of the pool it started to ache badly. So I look down and its all tore up and red like a peace of steak.

    Ugh.

    My questions...

Do I need to see a doctor or will I be fine just living with my stupiditiy :P

How can I make the pain less...

And how long should this last typically? In a generall sense. Everyone heals differently, but I don't want to sit around for weeks waiting for it to heal without getting medical attention if it only takes a few days.

Cement is porous and soaks all all kind of bad bacteria( and no telling what they have in the pool water before treating it again) and you broke the skin essentially by rubbing on it, abraided the skin. I would worry about secondary infection setting in and you should either see your doctor for antibiotics, or start putting antibiotic cream all over the area and see how that works.

By the way, jenniepepsi, I noticed you hadn't been posting for a while and started missing you. I hope all is well.

Aww thanks tick. I didn't know anyone missed me. Things are getting better. I'm not exactly happier, but I'm much more relaxed, not so anxious or stressed. I'm going through the paperwork and motions to start school. I'm a little sick at the moment with a sinus infection that my lovely daughter brought home from school a few weeks ago :P I keep trying to give it back to her, but she won't take it (kidding :P I'm not seriously trying to get her sick again)

Thanks for the advice hon, ill put some antibiotic oinment on it and make an appointment with my dock.

If you have a store that sells "natural" products nearby, you can also find something called Tea Tree Oil. It has natural antiseptic and anti-fungal properties. I hope your foot gets better soon!

The tea tree oil might also help with any more mosquito bites. I have this blemish stick thing with it as the main ingredients (of course I find out AFTER buying the overpriced stick that the plain bottle of oil is supposed to be just as good) and it works wonders. I've used it on acne, bug bites, or even every now an then if I have a spot that just won't stop itching for some reason. And I use the plain tea tree oil with my shampoo sometimes too if my scalp is itchy. A bottle of it might be a nice investment to keep on hand.
