    Blew hairdryer up
    I have done something to the powerpoints in 3 rooms I went to use hairdryer and it shot out a little fireball so guessing I have blown the hairdyer but the wall sockets arnt working what do I do have I blown something on the inside of the wall socket or something I'm hopeless with this stufff and will I have to call out an electrician??

    I'm definitely no electrical expert but that happened to me a while back with a heater.

    It sparked at the power board and we had no power to half of our house (it is on 2 grids or something)

    Turns out it just blew a fuse.

    Have you checked your fuse box for any broken ones?

So here's my situation. I needed to change a regular electrical outlet and then a dimmer switch to a regular flicker switch. The outlet went beautfully. White wire and black wire and grounding wire all hooked up nicely and it worked! I was very proud of myself until I screwed the dimmer change up....
