    Too deep?
I just have a topic I wanted to bring up and I want to see you how everyone feels about it. I can be a very deep and emotional person. I can actually have an intelligent conversation with anyone. I'm not saying I let my emotions control my life, because I don't. Let me give you a for instance, I am a firm believer in love and what it stands for and that it should be earned, not given away or taken for granted. The point I'm trying to make is that why don't people respect me for that, they tend to make fun because I tend to see things for more than they really are. Most girls that I am friends with make fun of me and they laugh. I feel like saying screw you lol, what guy do you know is actually capable of sharing feelings and expressing themselves. Is it me or are people, girls specifically, not capable of understanding? Furthermore, I thought it was something to be admired...

    What exactly is your question?

How old are you? You may be just "too mature" for your age.

People usually act foolish when they see something new or unfamiliar. I am sure this is why you get made fun of. It's awful but you should not go "down to their level". For example, if they think cheating on their mate is a cool way of making them jealous don't fall into that "yea that is so cool" trap. Your smarter so use your smarts.

I'd also like to point out that you sound as if your all pish posh, nose in the air, don't look at me type of person... well that's just what I felt when reading your post. If others feel the same when your talking to them then I suggest you "check your attitude". Don't you have ANY close friends? If you do then ask them what their honest opinion is of you. If you HAVE no close friends then it IS your attitude. You can be smart, but that doesn't mean you have to be a smarta*s.

Ooh, me me me, I don't understand. I'm a guy and one of those "emotionless" techie types to boot. And yet love for me is an emotion. However, if it needs to be earned as you think, then it becomes a decision - as in "Once you do x, y, and z, then you become qualified to be the recipient of my affection." If this is what you believe, then how exactly does one earn your love?

It's not the way you perceive yourself, it's the way people perceive you.

You can't control the way people think of you, you can only control the way you compose or exhibit yourself in front of others.

If you think it's unfair critcisim, then continue to do you own thing, but you can't change how other people see you. But maybe you should look in the mirror and try to understand things from their perspective or their point of view. People don't say things for no reason.

I believe you take life too seriously. I did that for the longest time. Life isn't about the absolutes that you proclaim to have faith in. The eternal and such. Life is about soaking it up, about smiling, about cherishing and about appreciating. It is about enjoying the moment WHILE you are in the moment, not afterwards.

Relax and enjoy, that's all we can do, and that's all that should be expected of us. We get one shot to have the best possible time, so why waste it in a so called "emotionally deeper" place than needed?

Everyone has something very interesting to say, I kind of do feel like sometimes I am better than everyone else and I do have that "pish-posh" attitude and I actually don't like that but for some reason I am like that. Idk why? And regarding friends, I have really really close friends so that is not an issue what so ever... and I have asked them what they thought and they all say the same thing. They think I am a great person but as for other people their first impression of me is that I can act arrogant. But my friends all know me very well and I don't act like that at all with them. I think its because I am so comfortable with them. I think my main concern is my first impression too people, I try acting different ways around them... i.e. being deep, sarcastic, arrogant, you name it sooo I don't know lol And as for earning love, that may have come across wrong... I didn't mean that people should earn my love... its just that I think its something that shouldn't be taken lightly.

You need to learn not to take yourself so seriously, that's my take on it.

Talaniman Rule- Be yourself, and be happy with who you are, and the ones who can't handle it, or don't want to understand it, so what? Thats their problem, NOT yours.

Talaniman Rule- Never make your life depend on someone else's opinion, so have your own.

Talaniman Rule- Be nice when you can, but kick butt if you have to.
