    Charged with shoplifting
Im 15 and three days ago me and my friend where at the mall in hamilton place. So we get to this store that sells earings and stuff and she picks up like five things and places it in her bag and I get like a pair of earings. To make a long story short we got caught and we both were charged with theft under $500. What will they give us will we have to go to jail or will we be placed in comminative service or will they put us on probation? I really need to know cause Ive got a lot of stuff to look forward to. Plus this was my first time getting in trouble so the judge shouldn't go to hard on me should he?

You'll probably get a fine, community service, or probation. Maybe all of the above. But I doubt it will be that harsh because it is your first offense.

Take this as a lesson and never repeat this behavior.
Not only are you hurting yourself, you are hurting your parents. They are being punished just as much, if not more than you are. They're probably going to be the ones paying the fines, and definitely the court fees.
You put your parents in a very bad position because of your actions. Think about how things could affect them if you act a certain way.
Also, I would not go anywhere shopping with that friend again. She is obviously a bad influence. And if you're with her shopping and she does it again, you could probably get in trouble just for being with her while she was stealing. WHether you did it or not, they could look at it as Guilt by association, and you could get even more put on your record.

Make sure not to do it again, and you'll be fine after a while. Don't expect yo get your parents trust back right away either.
