My 17 year old daughter doesn't have a period, can she get pregnant
I have a 17 year old daughter who doesn't have a period and she won't go to the doctor to determine the cause, can she still get pregnant?

I highly doubt it. I'm sure I don't need to explain to you what a period is, so therefore she can't get pregnant. It is worth going to the docs about.

It depends. She will hopefully get her period eventually and before she does she'll ovulate. So she could get pregnant without every having a period.

She really needs to see a doctor about this, it's not normal for a 17 year old not to have a period. There's something going on here, also, it's not healthy.

It does happen to 17 year olds though. Some start late, but the doctors is the best option

She may be a late bloomer but she may start at any time so if the timing is unfortunate yes she could get pregnant. I suggest talking to her about doctors about going but at the end of the day you can't force her she's nearly an adult and has to learn to make decisions for herself.

Had to spread the rep alty. I totally agree though. While it's possible she's just a late bloomer, it's a better idea to take her to the dr's to make sure it's not a health problem causing it. What does she have against going to the dr's?

Ms Bivins, this is not an easy thought but have you considered your daughter might be pregnant? This is a foremost cause of menstration not occurring.

Hm. I read it as she had never had her period. Ms bivins, did you mean she never had it or she recently stopped getting it?

Is your daughter very skinny or does she run a lot, that can affect that but no if she hasn't gotten her period she can't get pregnant unless she has sex like the week before she gets her period for the first time when she ovulates for the first time.
