Last night the fan was running outside and the inside was running but making noises, sounded like a fan scraping the inside of its housing. It was not running very well, it was producing cold air, but the house was around 82. (I live in Texas) After a while, it sounded like it was fine but this morning, the compressor and pipes were starting to become frozen, it had ice on all of the pipes outside and the compressor was about half covered in frost. Inside, the pipe coming in was starting to get ice on it.
The major issue is that the inside unit sounds like its seized, I guess. It comes on and sounds like a fan is stuck, I thought it was a fan we had running but it was coming from the inside AC unit. We have just turned it off and I think we are going to have to call a technician.
