I have to file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. I am abroad now.
I have to file chapter 7 bankruptcy. I have a disability. The doctor stated that I had a"manic episode". I am taking meds, and I realized now what happened. What would be the most quick way to "clear" the situation, use my "manic" phase as a defense, or just regularly file for chapter 7. I am planning on attending a school now when I stabilized. The school costs $52,000.00. Will I be able to get a student loan from US Department of Education, or never again in my life I won't get any student loans. Before, I have never been delinquent with my student loans. For well justified reason, I had to leave the US. What are the bankruptcy attorney's fees for chapter 7. All my debt is unsecure.

I don't quite understand. Am I correct that you are not a US citizen; you were attending school in the US; you have student loans; you are seeking to declare bankruptcy (no, illness is NOT a reason not to pay your bills) in order to get out from under your bills; you are going to attempt to get new student loans to continue your education?

Only a Bankruptcy Attorney can tell you what he/she will charge and you will have to call several or ask the appropriate Bar Association for a referral. You will also have to come back to the US in order to file.

Some student loans cannot be discharged by bankruptcy.

First US student loans can not be discharged in a bankruptcy

And merely being "manic" is not a defense, if you could prove you had no control at all over your choices, and needed a guardian then hat offense may hold
