I am lurking, peaking up over the bar. Be very wary.

OH and shaz your talking about walking, running and going to the gym. Hmmm... who is the crazy pup chasing a ball all day and never catching it. That's got to be way more tiring then actually working out.

Yeah, not a bad idea bear.
I feel awful that I don't feel any love for them but it's hard when they don't show any back.
I think they would be better off but I will do what you said and have a trial (if she still wants them)

    Facing a very difficult decision.

I have 3 bunnies, 1 of which is as tame as can be,
The other 2 are completely feral, I was planning to get them spayed but I don't know if it will help that much.

My cousin was thinking about getting a rabbit a while ago.

I don't know whether to offer her my 2 bunnies (the feral ones)
I just can't get attached to them, after one of them bit me today they are more of a pain than a blessing.

She could give them more attention than I could so she might be able to get them a bit more friendly..

    ARGH! I just don't know :(

    Sad Shaz.

Shazzy, this is a common problem with rabbits born to the same litter. They tend to only love each other and screw the rest of the world. ;)

Spaying will help, but I don't know if you want to suffer the expense if you decide to give them away.

One question. When you take them out to play do you take them both out together or one at a time?

They always both come out together, do you think I should do it separately?

I just spat the goo today after Lulu dug the teeth into my shoulder

That's the other thing too, I can't afford the spaying at the mment, my cousin would be able too, she is 18.

How old are they now Shazzy?

If they're 6 months or older and not spayed then the biting is most likely because of their
    Raging hormones.

I do think that taking them out separately and spending time with them that way will help.
They're a bonded pair, and bonded pairs often have trouble with their humans. It's great for them, but not so great for you.

Try taking them out one at a time, out of sight of each other. Go into a small room, like the bathroom, close the door and put bunny on the floor. Have a carrot or another treat with you. Just hold the treat on your lap, wait for bunny to come to you. When she does, then just let her sit on your lap and eat her treat, don't let go of the treat, she has to eat it while you're holding it.

This is how I tamed Thumper. Remember, Thumper was a 2 time loser at the humane society because of his biting. Yes, having him neutered helped but he also spent some time on the streets and wasn't very tame. Now he's a love bug and that's how I did it.

Also remember, rabbits only tolerate us, they would much rather be with their bunny friends, human beings are not high on their list to begin with.

If you do end up giving them away don't be too hard on yourself. Okay? I know you'll make sure they go to a good home. :)

I'd never give them to the shelter or just to anyone, it would pretty much be my cousin or no-one.

I will try doing what you said one by one first though!
They are strange, they will hapilly eat veggies out of my hand in the cage but as soon as you go to touch them they freak out and run.
It could be because one runs and the other follows so I will start with Rikku, she is the more tame of the two.

I actually just went out there again and have a nasty scratch on my hand from trying to pick Lulu up :(

Oh and they are 6 months old now.

Ok well I'm going to go try it for 10 now let you know how I go!

If I just reply with a series of jibberish, she somehow managed to maul me half to death

Yup, 6 months is a tough age.

Cotton was a sweetheart until he turned 6 months, then he started biting, spraying, scratching, destroying everything in sight. He was a demon bunny.

After we got him fixed it took a few weeks and then he calmed down. Now he is the calmest, tamest bunny I've ever known. He's tamer then Chewy. ;)

Let me know how it goes with my suggestion, but keep in mind, they still aren't spayed so anything you try now may not work because of their age and sexual maturity.

Yeah I just had a quick try, sat really still in the bathroom with a bunch of parsley...
She just thumped her feet at me and stayed in the corner

I will see if we can work out finances and if we can't get them spayed within the next month or 2 then giving them away may be an option.

I feel awful but I don't think the lady we got them from socialised them at all so they have been pretty feral from the start.
I know spaying chnages their behaviour a lot eg: Cotton! But it's just hard to imagine them being sweet little bunnies.

Had to pick the bunny up in a towel after that first attempt.

    Sounds like Kilala.

Kilala still doesn't trust humans 100%. We've had her for a little over a year now and she still bucks and kicks when someone picks her up.

She was already 1 1/2 years old when she was spayed and pregnant to boot. She was born in a house with over 200 rabbits and never bonded with humans. She's my work in progress and the progress is really slow.

I've never had a bunny like her, one that I can't tame. Not that she's feral, but she really rather be left alone with her bunny friends and have nothing to do with the two legged monsters that feed and house her. ;)

She's my trouble child, in so many ways. Sadly, because I have 4, I don't have the time to do hours of one on one with her and that's what it will likely take. I do what I can when I can and, no matter what, I love the little demon. :)

Shazzy, you know what's best for you and your household. I really do think that the main problem right now is their age and the fact that they're a bonded pair. You don't want to break the bond they have with each other but you do want them to bond with you.

It won't be a quick fix, but what I suggested will probably work, eventually. It took a long time with Thumper. I remember the first time he actually jumped onto my lap and started to eat the carrot I was holding. I almost cried because I was beginning to lose hope.

Kilala actually willingly jumped into my lap the other day. She didn't stay long, but it was a huge accomplishment.

Whatever you decide, I'm behind you. :)

Whatever you decide, I'm behind you.
You have no idea how much that means coming from you.
You know how scared I am of telling you bad news :o

I will definitely try my hardest to keep them, it's just the money situation.
We were no where near as poor as we are now when I got them, even our emergency fund is almost gone, something that never happens.

Vaughns hours won't pick up until summer and he has only just started his new job (He got retrenched from his last job 2 months ago and luckily found work straight away)

Not a good time for the Shazz...

And redhed, you don't know how scary that is!
The rabbit hutch we have I actually have to climb inside it to clean the back (it is huge) Now I'm going to be paranoid of the door closing behind me
