Bumpy, red rash on finger - been there for months
I have a bumpy, red rash on my ring finger that will NOT go away. I've tried lotions, antibiotic ointment, even tanactin once! I thought it was poison ivy, but it doesn't itch anymore and flares up every time I wear my wedding ring. I've also cleaned my ring numerous times using ring cleaner, paroxide or rubbing alcohol. Do you have any suggestions on what the rash could be and how to treat it? And once the rash is gone, how do I keep my ring from aggravating the rash?

Try leaving the ring off for a few days and see if that changes anything. Is the ring platinum? If so, the rhodium plating may have worn off the ring, exposing the platinum, which may have started causing the reaction.
