I am sorry that you have dyers regret, but before you do anything drastric you will have to be patient. Too much chemistry to soon and your hair might fall out, or go orange, in protest.

There are some comb in non-permanent dyes that you could use when going out. I wiould give your hair at least four weeks 'rest' from harsh dyes before trying to correct it. Have you asked your hair stylist for advice? She/he might know some shortcuts.

I would just be patient. I find that new hairstyles sometimes need a little time to grow on me. No pun intended.

Morganite is right you will severely ruin your hair if you work to quickly on it. To go back to light brown without ruining you hair to the point where you can't fix it with only allowing it to grow out, just wait a couple weeks for your hair you adjust to the chemicals you just put in it and the slowly lighten it. Just go a shade or two ligter than what it is every two weeks until you are at the color you want. This will get you the color you want and help keep you hair in healthy shape.
