Adding lighting over a dining table that isn't centered
There is a ceiling fan in the center if the room and the table isn't directly centered under it. I was thinking of adding a recessed light to light the table area. It will be on a separate switch from the ceiling fan. What size and what kind would be best. There is insulation in the attic but I do have access to the space. I was thinking a pendant but I think that would be too much going on with a ceiling fan.

What kind of effect are you looking for? One lamp to flood the table, or a spot of light focusing on he center?

Think of the restaurants you have been in, some should have used recess lights over or around the tables. Remember how each was lit differently? And some not so good?

    Ceiling height?

Table I assume is 30 inch high.
