    Windows XP Startup Problem
I have a removable hard drive and have been alternating between Vista and XP. Recently I performed the swap rather too quickly with the result that XP - not unreasonably - ran its "one of your disks needs to be checked" routines. It found no problem and booted normally.

The problem is that it persists in running this check every time the machine starts. Is there a registry change or other fix to turn off the check?
