Rented a house and cannot cook for a week now
    Hi,

We rented a house a week ago and only realized that the gas is blocked and the microwave oven is broken when we moved in. The estate agency said they didn't know about this things but they will solve the problems asap. They said they will get the gas unblocked this week and get a new microwave the next day. 1 week passed by now and nothing has happened. I cannot cook for my family so we spent a lot on food in restaurants this week.
What shall I do? Sue them? I would not rent the house if I knew about these problems.
Please, can anyone answer these quistions?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello B:

Write you landlord a certified letter. Tell him that you are charging him for your restaurant meals because he in in breach of the "Warranty of Habitability". Keep your receipts, and deduct the money from the next months rent.
