My ex-husband was ordered to pay child support April 2007-April 2008, the thing is that he lied to the court with his attorney know about where he lived so he didn't have to pay the correct amount. I s there anything I can do about this now? How can I go about taking it to court?

YES, without having to spend money, get a Legal Aid to help you, we normally don't charge and don't offer the same services as a hired attorney but you will get something. He must pay child support. You don't need his address.

Do you mind telling me how old the kids are? Does he (the father) have visitation? What state are you located?

The children are 4 and 8 yrs old Their father has custody but lives with his parents and he works almost all the time and his parents (in the early 70's and with health issues ) are taking care of them. I live in Illinois.

To be honest with you and feeling VERY sorry for the kids, I would forget about him. Work hard, you WILL MAKE IT for sure. Your babies will appreciate when they WILL began to understand. You are going to look bad wasting your time with that idiot, you can do it alone. YOUR KIDS WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU LIKE HIS FATHER DID. KEEP THIS IN MIND. e-Mail me anytime for support. I am not saying that they do not need a father, I just think that the father sort of abandoned them and it happened to me when I was a kid and everything turned out to be fine.

This is where it gets complicated, from the beginning whole situation. In August of 06 me and our daughter left their dad and the next day I picked up her brother from her dads parents and went to my parents house. I stayed at parents house for 2 months and then lived on my own with parents support till April 07. He was order to pay child support. He told the court he was living in one county when he really wasn't and therefore he didn't have to pay as much as hsould have due to this (with his attorneys knowledge of this lie and attorney said nothing ) Axs soon as he was ordered to pay support the DCFS came to my apartment 4 time between April and August because stupid things and the DCFS found nothing at all wrong at the same time the housing all the sudden starts showing up for checkups of my apartment even though I had been there for 6 months and never bothered to check on apt, they eventually kicked me out because there may be books or movies in floor or I hadn't swept yet that day and they said was dirty. But anyway I went from plae to place and when their dad went for temp custody at the time I was in a hotel room because had no money for anything else, but I had a microwave and mini fridge in my room. The judge said that it was wrong that I did not have a stove and that we slept in a full size bed together. My daughter was going to schol everyday she missed 2-3 days but they had a place to stay and food and clean clothes... bny this time I have a boyfriend of about 2 1/2 months and he is very good with my kids and they adore him very much even to this day. Well their dad got the kids and I moved back to my moms and got a job and a place to rent. Although we had a child advocate that was suppoase to be for the kids best interest she NEVER came to see my place to see if I had a separate bed and a big enough place for the 3 of us. I got hurt at work and was not able to work much after that so I moved in with boyfriend and still live with him and because I am to be paying child support he is doing everything he can to get out what I can't give. I fi could I defiently would. I have applied for ssi and disablitiy on 3rd time now with a lawyer and I also have a work comp cas and lawyer because I got hurt at work. So anyway up to speed we are divorced I'm ordered to pay child support even though I can't work the judge wants me to try to find something at 20 employers and statements about everything going on with me.
I don't really care that he didn't pay the right amount and didn't pay at all until ordered I just think it unfair that they are trying to make me and he could have cared less about the kids . The money is for the kids not me but I just think he cheated them out of money when we may have needed it. That is my situation and the facted that they lied to not have to pay as mch and they are trying to get it out of me and wanted to hold me in contempt and put me in jail I just find it crazy and crooked. The kids hardly see their dad he won't get a place of his own because he pays nothing at his parenta and they are free babysitters. Im just frustrated and think there should be something done about it all.
