    Keyboard Messing Around
A couple of nights ago by keyboard suddenly started messing around. For example if I press space I get x, if I press f, I get fv, if I press h, I get hh and so on. I'm wondering if it's to do with the sensors under the keys. Any idea how to sort this?

First clean it with a can of compressed air. Then consider replacing it. There are contact rejuvenator products on the market, but given the cost of the average keyboard and the time required to disassemble, thoroughly clean, repair, and reassemble; I question the prudence of doing so.

Since you didn't say specifically, I will assume this is a desktop computer. There is not much you can do for a laptop.

I would check that the keyboard's cable connection is secure. If it is a USB connection, try a different port on the computer. If that doesn't help, borrow a friend's keyboard and see if the problem goes away.

    Hope this helps,

Desktop keyboards usually can be taken apart. I know. I spilled champagne on mine one time. Still worked afterwards, but with funny letters. I turned the keyboard over, unscrewed all the screws and took it apart. Some keyboard have a plastic rubbery thing that goes between the keys and board. (If not wet) blow out the board with compressed air. The plastic thingy can be washed with soap and water. Let it dry well afterwards. Dunk the part with the keys (not the one with the circuit board) in soapy water too (as long as there are not electrical connections anywhere on this part).

Another possible cause, the system language settings may have been inadvertently changed. Go to CONTROL PANEL, Regional and Language settings. Check each tab and make sure it says English (United States). In the Languages tab, Details button, make sure keyboard has been added as U.S.

Lastly, if it is a USB keyboard, then try re-plugging it. A USB keyboard shouldn't need drivers, but if the manufacturer provided a disc, then reload the drivers.
Also, make sure your Windows Upgrades are up to date. Internet Explorer menu -->Help -->Windows Update.
