    Vanguard 16 vs 18 hp
    Will a vanguard 18 horse engine directly replace a 16 horse version?
    This is a vertical shaft in aSimplicity mower.

    Hi,
    Yes, it has the same mount pattern for single or twin as long as it is "apples and apples" (single for single.)

I have billy goat leaf vac with a 16 hp briggs vanguard ohc motor.. there is no oil pressure switch and by passed all safety features. Motor ran for about 10 sec. then crapped out now I get no spark, I cleaned and reset the magnetos and fly wheel and rewired the harness any help would be apreaciated
