    Occupant but not on lease
My boyfriend lease states that its for the tenant plus 1. Now I understand I am the plus one but should we inform the management company that I am the plus one. My boyfriend thinks we should wait because he hasn't even moved in yet. My only issue is that the building has a key pad that we can't duplicate and the super lives on the premises. My boyfriend was just going to wait a week and tell the management company he lost the keys. Any advice?

Why not be honest right from the start? If the lease says he can have one other living there then there is nothing to hide. What else is your boyfriend not upfront about??

I would inquire from the management whether it is necessary to specifically list you and what is necessary to get a spare set of keys. I would NOT lie to management.

The problem is my credit suck (thanks to a family member but whatever) so we didn't want to list me as a tenant or occupant because we thought they might run my credit and then not let him get the apartment

I think if your boyfriend has already been approved and will have possession of the apartment there would be no need to do a credit check on you. Just my thought.
