I receive a Summons for dept that as accrued for excess wear and tear charges
I received a summons for $6000.00 for wear and tear charges on a lease vehicle that I turned in earlier this year. The vehicle is in close to perfect condition and I fully do not agree with the charges. What do I do in case like this where they are trying to nail me with wear and tear charges that are not even outlined in the lease. The biggest charge is for scuff marks on all of the rims that occurred while parallel parking. The lease doesn't outline what is considered excess wear and tear for this area. What are my rights if I do not agree with there charges!

I trust you have photos which you took when you turned it in. Do those agree with the charges being claimed against you?

Scuff marks on rims are NOT normal wear and tear. I parallel park all the time and I don't have scuff marks on the rims of my cars.

Let them sue you and go to Court and argue what is and what is not normal wear and tear. Or ask for documentation and see what happens next.
