Install xp instead of vista for compaq cq60-209tu
    Hi
Recently I've bought compaq cq60-209tu laptop which is pre built with windows vista.
Now I want to install windows xp in my laptop. I've used partition magic to format hard drive nut I'm getting 105 error partition table error. Can anyone suggest me how to proceed?

I do NOT recommend switching to XP on a machine designed for Vista, especially a laptop. You may not find XP drivers for some of your hardware.

I would use your recovery CD or partition to restore it back to factory settings. If you don't have those, you may have left yourself with an expensive paperweight.

First you need to check if the hardware is compatible with XP. If its not, then no, you can't.

How can I do compatibility test? When I try to install xp a blue color screen appears saying your hard might've lost config or new hard disc is not installed properly.. it means that windows xp is not detecting my hard disc?

You go to the websites of the manufacturers of the components and see if they are supported by XP.

It sounds to me like the Windows XP installer cannot find your hard drive.
This may or may not help you, but it's worth a shot: Limited OEM driver support is available with F6 during Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 setup

Download "nLite" Software and ICH9 driver nLite is use to embed driver files to XP installer CD and ICH9 is the driver you need to make XP able to detect your hard drive during installation. That's all
