    Broken Sink, no water
    Hi,
I just moved into this house with a buddy, and it had a leaky faucet. Regrettably, before I did any research on how to fix a leaky faucet, I just started to tinker. I thought if I turned off the hot water line and the leaking stopped that I would know what line it was. I turned it off, and then turned on the faucet. The water ran to a dribble, and stopped.
When I turned it back on, the water shot out and was black. The water pressure was extremely minimal, I turned off the line and then turned it back on, and this time no water came out of either H or C.
My room mate isn't going to be able to brush his teeth tomorrow morning, and I feel awful. Can anyone tell me what I might have done, and if I can fix it?

    Thanks,
    Andy

Remove aerator from faucet and clean it. See attachment. Does water run with aerator removed?

    Run water until clear.

If cleaning the aerator screens don't get it we will need the brand name of the valve, its type, one handle or two knobs and its age. In fooling with the faucet you dislodged minerals built up in the hot water line and now it's clogging the inlet ports of the cartridge. If that's the case you will have to shut the water off, open up the vakve and remove the cartridge. Clean out the inlet ports. Before you reassemble turn the water back on for a few seconds to flush out the supplies and valve body. Good luck, Tom

Thanks guys, the aerator was definitely the problem. The only thing that I can't figure out now is how to give you guys positive feedback. Is it the "rate this thread" link? Or is it somewhere else?
