It's a very big project. I would have to hired over 50 people and also supply the material. What would you charge for this baby? Is there software that would do the estimate:confused:

    Hi, ka123456!

Just to be clear here, do you really mean, "construction clean-up"?

    Thanks!

    Hi again, ka123456!

I do know just the person who would be the best one to address your post, and that would be Stringer. He owns a very large cleaning and janitorial service in the Chicago, IL area. His advice is second to none concerning your type of question. I'll let him know about your post.

    Thanks!

ka123456, good afternoon, I would be excited also... looks like some big bucks, congratulations!

Clough, thanks for letting me know.

Ka, may I have some information to begin?

One time clean up correct? Or is it a * progressive cleaning, in that you clean as they finish certain sections?

    Overall cleanable square footage involved?

    How many floors involved?

What is the highest point that must be cleaned? Will you need scaffolding, a mechanical lift, etc?

Is the total sq ft completely open or will it have anything in it when you are performing your job? If so, exactly what?

Will the contractor have already removed large trash, i.e. lumber, piping, HVAC, chunks of concrete, etc?

Will you have to remove anything of any bulk? If so, who pays for the construction dumpster, etc? If so, will you have to pay for any dumping?

Is this a final detailed clean prior to 'opening?'

If so, what type of hard floor finishings are involved; ceramic, VCT, slate, marble, etc? Approximate sq ft of each?

Are there carpets, are you expected to do more than detail vac? (Are you expected to clean them?) Approximate sq ft?

Are you responsible for exterior glass cleaning? Assuming that you will do all interior glass...)

    Finally, do you have specifications?

I do not know your experience level Ka, or if you have done final construction clean ups or broom cleans in the past.

BUT, without specifications, it can be a nightmare of confusion on both parts. And can result in loss of profits. A complete understanding of what is exactly expected up front is essential.

Best question.....are you bidding this project or do you already have it? If you have it, what are your time restrictions and are there any financial penalties involved against you if you do not complete on time?

Also, I would definitely require an actual 'sign off' of each area as it is completed by a person with the construction company after they do a walk through with you, each day if necessary.

Please respond so we can proceed.

Thank you and good luck again,

    Stringer
