    It is based on a percentage of the income of the one paying and their cost of living, etc...

    Each state has its own set of guidelines which take into account your income, the other parent's income and number of children. A family lawyer in your area could probably run the numbers for you and give you at least a rough estimate.

    Each case can vary, here in GA it is @ 15 percent of your gross for the first child and a addition for each additional. Plus of course additional payment for child care, for medical care and more.
