    Ceiling fan interior gable mounting at ridge
    Sirs;

    I want to center a ceiling mounted fan in a vaulted room. This happens to be under the ridge where the two slopes meet at the peak of the ceiling. At present there is no box but I can get electricity to it from above. How is this accomplished.

    You can build a box or buy one.

    Yep. They make boxes specially for this, but it might be easier to create your own. I've seen it done a variety of ways.

Hi, I bought a hampton bay ceiling fan. It's not a ceiling mount, but that ball n socket type of hanging fan. Does anyone know how short the shaft can be while still allowing it to swing with the little bit of 'wobble' that it needs. Floor to ceiling is 7'9''. Thanks
