    Learning Aural Piano Tuning
I picked up piano tuning (and sales) as a new career a year ago, and have had good success using the Sanderson Accu-Tuner F-A-C technique. What I would like to do is learn to do traditional aural tunings as a back-up in case the unit is unavailable, but can't find any straightforward instructions on how to do it. Any suggestions or techniques to offer? Thanks.

    Hi, Tom Dans!

Hey, let's talk! I've been tuning and rebuilding pianos since 1974. I'll be glad to help you on this thread!

I've been off the site for awhile due to health problems, but am back on, now.

I would be glad to help you to learn how to tune by ear!

    Thanks!

I just wanted to let you know, that I'm still willing and able to work with you on this, Tom Dans.

I hope that you return to here! I rarely find people on this site who are into exactly the same type of musical things that I am.

    Thanks!

Considering the time late in Mozart's life I heard his Fantasia in C minor and fell in love with it. I was told that it is better heard in the temperament of that time. I read that it might have been a 1/6 comma tuning. What is that? I looked all over the internet and nothing makes sense to me....

I'm curious if anyone can give me an idea of how much it costs to tune a piano. I recently bought a used 1970's vintage Cable-Nelson Spinet and it needs slight tuning. I live in the New England area if that helps.
