Hello.
I'm 18 and am currently enlisted in the delayed entry program for the marines. I met this wonderful girl at a friends party. We exchanged numbers when she left, and I called her a day or so later. We talked for a while and then said goodbyes. Later that weel she texts me and we've texted and talked on the phone since. We have hung out at each others houses and such. Really enjoying each others company a lot. This has been going on for a month now. From the beginning I told her that I was leaving for boot camp in September and she seemed okay with that. Now recently she said that this was all too hard for her because she doesn't know if she can handle to stress of being separated from me because I will get stationed somewhere other than my home state. And because she is going to college. So we reached the point of saying goodbye to each other. She was crying and saying that she loved me. Even though she said it was to hard to bare the stress of the relationship. But I cannot keep from thinking about her. I am constantly thinking of her and how is she doing. And I'm almost positive she is thinking the same thing. Should I call/text her this? Or should I let it go and possibly miss out on something that could be a wonderful relationship for many years? Please help. I'm running short on time as it is. Only 30 some odd days until I have no contact from the outside world because of bootcamp.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Both your lives are about to change radically.though you sound like a mature eighteen it s probably better to try to move on here heartbreaking as it may sound.sometimes we meet the right people at the wrong time.

This is a tough one.

I can understand why she wants to cut it off now. Long distance relationships aren't easy, in fact they're near impossible.

How long will it be before you two can be together again? Can you ever be together? Those are the questions she's probably asking herself and she's saving herself the pain of falling for you only to lose you anyway.

Really hard one.

If it was me, I'd want a call, I'd want to hear that you care so deeply. But, I would also be upset because I'd still be thinking about the fact that a relationship really isn't in the cards right now.

You have to go with your gut on this one.

Well during boot camp it will be 3 months without physical contact or talking on the phone. We can write letters and that's pretty much it. Ill be home for 10 or so days after boot camp. And then get sent to my job training school for 30 days. And then I get stationed somewhere for three years. Which could be in across the united states. But I've told her that she can come and stay with me while she is on summer break in college so that we can be together. But I don't know.
