Bought home, seller lied on disclosure statement
    Hello,
In a nut shell... seller stated that they were not aware of any past or present probems with retaining walls on property. And, checked off NO when answering if they were aware of any termites, dryrot or pests affecting the property.

In the basement, the seller covered rotten panelling and some walls with drywall, molding and fresh paint. As work began on remodeling the basement, every wooded structure that touched the floor was rotten, had old termite damage, some mold, and covered and patched with drywall and plaster.
During hose inspection some things were evident, the hidden paneling was a surprise to me, not at all noticed by the inspector. Since then I demolished the walls in the basement, but took pictures first.

Also the seller checked NO to are you aware of any fire, water, or ice damage to the property. It seems obvious they new enough to cover it up.

Question> where do I go with this? Let the old people retire and take the hit. Or sue for fraud and incompetence? I don't know if its worth the stress or if I have a leg to stand on when it comes to leagal action.

I'd ask an Attorney to review the evidence and make a suggestion (or suggestions). You could also sue in Small Claims Court (up to the jurisidiction in your State) for any expenses you have.

Or would you want to reverse the sale?
