PC System Crashes on bootup
I just put togther a midtower PC (AMD 750, ASUS Motherboard, 160GB Western Digital HDD, OS Windows XP Pro w/ SP2 installed) and it will only bootup and run in regular mode with just one stick of 128 SDRAM-CENTON PC133 installed in either the #1 or 2, or 3 slot.
If I add one of two more sticks of identical RAM in slots 2 and/or 3 the system only boots up to (displays ram in slots CMOS) the point were windows xp pro tries to load and then it reboots again. (I think I see the "blue screen of death" flash on before the display switches back over to the bootup screen).
I tried using three 128mb/PC133 sticks of PNY and it still did the same thing. No Help
The CMOS is set for PC133.
I also tried changing the CMOS settings to indicate that the on board OS/2 memory installed will be >64MB. No Help
Please Help.

That's just your BIOS version and could be one of a dozen motherboards..
Download and run Belarc from www.belarc.com and get the info from it..

Boot-upside the head with a computer
Here is a bunch of info that might help:
I also checked PNY's site and have ensured that I have the right type of RAM. In the event log I found EVENT ERROR code 50, meaning (I think/assume) the memory can't transfere info from it to the hard drive during boot up.
These indicators seem to be leaning towards the motherboard might be bad? I'm just an beginner at this stuff so I might be wrong.

Change your CPU multiplier to 3 and the CPU BUS setting to 266.. Now try the ram..
Or follow the settings on this page (CPU mutiplier to 5.5 and BUS to 133)

Going... Going... Gone
I ollowed the link to ASUS's website and tried the changes suggested for this motherboard. I adjust the dip switches, etc... and...
After trying to boot it up, appearently it has completely died now. I won't even bootup-now, nadda-nothing on the monitor screen! The screen standby light just keeps blinking "Going, going, gone!" to me. No matter what memory I tried to use. I tried reversing everything and still this computer is DOA.
I returned it to the shop were I got it from, and I'm hoping that because of all the problems I've had with it they will switch it out for another one Monday morning.
Then I'll start on a new drawing board.
If nothing else I found another case, 400 watt powersupply, motherboard with AMD 1600xp processor, with 512 MB Memory for $200. The guy said he would put it together and make sure it perform the POST check for me. I just need my budget committees approval (Wife unit). LOL
Thanks for the help so far but I think that computer is hopeless now. Maybe we were trying to fix a cadaver and didn't know it.
