    Dogs with itchy butt
My dog has been having an itchy butt for months and I have tried a lot of things. I have asked the groomer to clean his butt and have changed his food tested him for worms and he is still scratching:(. Do you know of any other home remedies I haven't tried?

Could be a clogged scent gland.

Dogs secrete a foul smelling substance every time they poo, at times it can become clogged, if it's not released it could cause infection.

Is your dog rubbing his butt on the floor a lot?

If he is, I'd guess the scent gland. You can extract it yourself but it's nasty, not fun, wear gloves a mask and have a garbage can nearby because you'll probably vomit. The vet can do it for you as well, that would be my option.

It could be something else so it's probably best to go to your vet anyway.

    Good luck.
