Teaching 2 yr old mime to potty.
I have just gotten a job as a nanny to a 2 year old child and a 5 year old. Mommy and I decided to potty train 2 yr old when sister went off to school. I have 2 problems. Brandon will not answer any of your questions. He can talk and most words are very legible, but when you ask him if he needs his diaper changed he quotes your question back to you instead of answering me. Now here's my problem. How do I teach a 2 year old mime how to go potty if he won't answer me when I ask him do you need to go potty. The response I will get (Im reasonably sure) is "go potty." HELP I'm desperate.

Sometimes boys are not ready at two. Switch to pull ups during the day and introduce the concept. You can certainly try... if they catch on great, they will really let you know when they are ready.
Maybe instead of asking him you can suggest to him that he "try". Keep it in mind every so many hours to sit him down and have him "try".
