    Hot Water Pressure Loss
    Hi,

I have had a sudden loss of hot water pressure coming from my kitchen sink. The one in the bathroom is fine and the cold water is fine but the hot has dwindled to about half what it normally is.

Can anyone please advise what I should look to do before calling out a plumber?

    Thanks.

    Thanks for replying

The tap is unbranded. It is a mixer tap with the flexible connection running from 2 copper pipes. There are no kinks in the flexi-hose and checked the washer for corrosion but it was fine.

The boiler is not a combination one, it is the older style where there is a tank. The whole plumbing / heating system is regularly serviced.

What happened was that my washing machine stopped mid cycle as a part had blown in it We had to manually drain the machine but it is since then that the pressure has dropped. Whether this is co-incidental or not, I don't know.

    Thanks again.

Shut off angle valve for hot water under kitchen sink.

Disconnect flex hose from hot water inlet on faucet.

Pointing hose into large pot, turn on angle valve. Is pressure normal or still slow.

If flow is still slow u may have a minor blockage in angle valve.

Shut off water at main. Loosen packing nut. This is nut that shut off valve goes through.

Remove valve by turning counter clock wise. With towel at hole, have someone turn on main for 2 to 3 seconds. This willclear water line. Reassemble and turn on main.

If water was normal coming out of flex hose then blockage may be in faucet.

Please post picture of faucet so we can help u with that.
