    Taxes for H1B visa
I am a married china citizen. I will come to US from China with H1B visa in December. My monthly salary will be $2500. My job location will be in the Ohio state university.
What kinds of taxes should I pay to US?
And how much should I pay as a TAX to US?

If after 6 month I call my wife & son with H4 visa. Will it help me in tax saving. If yes how much I have to pay tax?

    Thanks

You will pay all taxes which the U.S. citizens pay that is Social security tax, Medicare Tax, federal income tax and State Income tax.

If you are coming to the U.S. in December 2009, then you will file your 2009 tax return as nonresident. If total income received in 2009 is less than $3650, you do not have any filing requirement.

Even if your wife never enters the U.S. you can file your 2010 return as joint return as residents. On the joint return your exemptions and standard deductions will be $18,700. If your enter U.S. in 2010, you will get additional exemption of $3,650. That on income of up to $22,450 in 2010 you will not pay any federal income tax.
